What I would do is that I would get her an 80 gig hard drive. With an 80 gig hard drive, there would be so much room left for updates, internet games, and if she might ever amp up to a computer gamer, you wouldnt need to go through the trouble of reinstalling another Hard drive. Also, you might want to go with a hard drive that has an RPM of 7200 (bigger RPM, the faster your computer ). It'll make your computer much faster too so you wouldnt have to worry about a sluggish computer.

the smallest one you can find. I would say 10g or 20g. they are getting so ridiculously large now adays. but if you get a used one, you will have an easier time to find a small hard drive. make sure above all it has a lot of ram and large processing power so she can play her games without any slowness. also, you might want to make sure it has a decent graphics card for her games. good luck!

For gaming make sure you have a fast processor too.. Core Duo 2 and a 80 GB hard drive that would do it.

Get at least 80gb, there are lots out there at a reasonable price. Don't bother with anything less, it's not worth the money in the long run.

I dont know exactly the sizes, but u should probably get the smallest size possible...because like you said...it wont be used that often......so wuts the use in getting a bigger one when the memory will go unused
