I cancelled my account a couple of weeks ago, returned the movies, and now i've been charged $44 for the 2 movies!!! I called the customer care line and she said "Thank you for calling netflix.." then hung up on me. I'm not calling from my cell phone so i know the call wasn't dropped; I'm calling from my office. Now I've been on hold for over 20 min. trying to get through. Any suggestions??

One more thing... they took the money out of my account with out notifying me in any way. No emails, no phone call, not even a letter. Can they do that??

I hate them, actually I used to LOVE them, then it took 7 days to get a movie, and I threatened to cancel and they just said it was the post offoice fault, and didnt try to make things better so I left, also when i cancelled I was told you have 7 days to return the movies you have before they charge you 22 bucks per movie (even though they sell them on their site for 5.99) Now I did return it, and they never charged me, but Ithe only way I ever communicated to them was by e-mail and it takes 1-2 days before you hear anything, GO to your bank immedialty and sign a form stating it was unauthoried charges, in your explaination on the form list the date you sent the movies back, usually your bank will go to bat for you to settle things up, in the meantime if you speak to ANYONE phone or e-mail get their names, and date and time of call and what was said, keep a record until the charges get refunded back, also you can give them to your bamk to help the "investigation" process

i am wondering though... did you return the movies before you cancelled your account or after?? I am not sure if that would matter though but I was just curious....

YES!!!! Two weeks to get movies, notification on line about them receiving movies from my list that I NEVER even received to return. Pain in the ***. I'm changing my bank account just to get them to stop collecting fees. Because of course, I can't get ahold of a real person to help.

I had the same problem. Couldn't get past long hold times to cancel and they helped themselves to my credit card info, whick they had on file. I had to report the card lost to keep them from using it again and the credit card company was not helpful at all in disputing the charge or refusing further cahrges from them. It was a fine service when we used it and got our money's worth, but impossible to cancel.
