I understand what you're saying. Although I think most people use hate all the time, just like a lot of people say "I love this movie" or "I love chocolate". The word love should be reserved for deeper meaning. If I REALLY hate something I use "despise". And if I REALLY love something I use "cherish".

If I want to go back to a question or 'remember' a website or an answer that was on the response list. PS: I'm in a bad mood today and saying 'willy nilly' only helped a little...maybe, I'll try again tomorrow. (I'll 'star' this question in case I forget ;-)

I actually try not to use the word hate much at all. I might use it about certain foods I don't like, but I never use it in terms of another person. Someone would have to do something very very bad in order for me to hate them. And even then I probably wouldn't.

Listening to people around you or to the media, including the internet there are certain words people pick up with no intention of even using them, but they come out in speech anyway. If you want to get away from that then find out where you hear the words you dislike and stay away from them or it.

I use it all willy nilly.

I also use "love" a lot.

I love pizza, I hate mushrooms, and so forth.

I tend to use a lot of exaggerations in day-to-day conversation, though, just because I find it amusing. So, I don't know if I am a good example of "normal."

Personally, I think nitpicking over the use of a word is time wasted. The fact that you actually make a conscious effort not to use the word so it isnt taken out of context is a little beyond me.

Some times, I use the term depends on the conversation or who I'm talking to. Never do I use it in everyday conversation.

You mean you DON'T find yourself saying things like 'Wow, I loved that movie' or 'Chocolate ice cream? I LOVE chocolate ice cream!'

Most people on this planet use those words easily and often.
