I bought my Yamaha V-star 650 Classic brand new in 05, got the 4 year warranty, and after all was said and done, I signed the papers at a final price of 7,050.00 to the penny.
I love the bike. It will go 110 mph, but the speed limits are only 75mph max in some states (West Texas on I-10 is 80 in the day). So there is extra power, despite what others may say.

Honda Shadow Aero 750, Honda VTX 1300, Suzuki Boulevard, Yamaha V-Star 650 and 1100. All of these are quality bikes that will run for years without problems.

This depends upon where you live.

*Remember the manufacturer's suggested retail price does NOT include tax (BIG-time hit in CA), license (pricey in CA), and other "charges".

*I was able to purchase a Yamaha FZ6 for under $8.5k out-the-door.

*My Yamaha Star Classic (a 650cc engine, shaft drive) is also a total blast and was under $7.5k out-the -door.

*Both bikes are great commuters (50mpg), and fun to ride on the weekends, too.

Good luck, and take a motorcycle safety class (MSF), if you haven't ridden in a few years; VERY informative and helpful.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

$10,000?!?!?!?!?! Where are you looking sweetie? Brand new sportbikes cost @ 8k. Unless you are going to buy a car with two wheels, radio, heater, etc. (AKA Harley Davidson) then you better triple your budget and start wasting your money!
