This can be a big problem indeed. There are a few solutions. Firstly, don't change your dogs' diets. This won't effect anything, as you are not actually directly addressing the problem with your dogs. To stop your dogs from eating their own waste, you've done a good thing by immediately picking it up. But I would recommend associating some kind of discipline with this. When your dogs go outside to pee or poop, watch them very closely. If they attempt to eat their waste, stop them right away and either: A) shake a finger at them, B) spray them with water, C) use a verbal warning (here, saying "No!" would suffice), or do a combination of two. But never all three. Over-disciplining your dogs is never a good thing. If the problem continues, you may want to consult that vet again.

Not really. I've had food that looked and smelled great but tasted totally bland and boring. It wasn't horrible, just not tasty.

Yes. I live in the South and when I travel to the Northern states I'm very careful about what I order because the Yankees don't know how to season food.

It's the other way around, as a "child" I'd smell foods to debate wether I'd eat it or not, I remember I'd refuse to eat "cheese" but now I love it-but it's gotta be melted. As of salad, "ranch" is o.k., but I'm not a "salad person".

Usually it is something that doesn't have any salt (for flavor) in it. It smells good, but has little flavor. No flavor is as good as bad to me.

More often, the smell is bad (or at least aquired) and the taste is good.
