IF the new plan in Iraq turns out to work, CAN YOU and WILL YOU say, "Bush was right"?

And please don't say, "this is unanswerable, because it won't happen", or similar, because that will only make you look pathetic.

And it shouldn't matter that it is "a hypothetical qustion". You should be able to PICTURE YOURSELF in that scenario.

Thanks for answering honestly.

Yes, I would.

But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for his plan to "work". Everything he's done so far has failed.

Honest enough for you?

I fall into the (and any anti-Bush people) crowd. I would be thrilled if his plan worked. I don't desire, for any reason, the continued loss of our soldiers lives and limbs. I will say that Bush was right, and if it happens it will be one of the only times those words have ever come out of my mouth. The last time I remember saying those words was when he had us all convinced that Iraq was tied up with 9/11 and that Hussein was a sneeze away from having nukes. Bitterness over that b.s. has made me more than wary about Bush and his declarations. But yes, I would say he was right with no hesitation. In fact, I would stand up and cheer if any plan he initiated in Iraq came to a fruitful conclusion. But I have a question for you. If it doesn't work, will you admit to Bush's incompetence at last? An honest answer would also be appreciated, thanks ;).

I'll take you at your word that you are interested in honest answers, and not just answers that support partisan rhetoric.

I'm not convinced that Bush's plan won't work, but I do know it depends heavily on Iraqi support. If that doesn't happen then we should pull out because we'll never accomplish anything without local cooperation. I hope it does succeed because if it does it means the troops will come home that much sooner.

I assume that if the plan fails, you will be willing to come here and publicly say so.

If Bush ends up redefining his definition of "total victory" as he did "mission accomplished", "We are going into Iraq because Saddam has Weapons of mass destruction", "we'll be greeted as liberators", "We're going to bring democracy to the Middle East" and all the other flip flop language that he's used, I'll say that it's more of the same. If I ever hear a clear objective and it actually works, I'll admit that he was right. Excuse me, if I don't hold my breath.

no matter what happens bush is wrong.he lied us into an un necessary war and is personally responsible for every soldier and every dollar wasted on iraq.if iraq stabilizes so what, the people still hate us and if iraq becomes a true democracy not the puppet govt we set up guess what,al sadr would be the leader not maliki .so no bush is not right about anything.

Ah, labels, labels, don't they make life so easy?

You're proposing a gamble where the stakes are many, many lives - some lost, many maimed for life. What's the prize? Who wins and what is won? That's the unanswered question that lies behind this bet.

Yes I would, and because he is forging ahead against advise from many people not to. I will also be on him like stink on dodo if it don't. For your information, I do hope it works as he is going to do it anyway. I hope it works because anything to get our people out of that quagmire is ok with me. I think while most disagree with him on this policy, but most also hope it works.

Its' not a matter of him being right once, it's the fact that he was wrong so many times before he got it right. I didn't realize that the President was supposed to experiment with war through trial and error.
