Shaq doesn't deserve it, but what are you gonna do. It IS a popularity contest. If anybody deserved it, it should've been Dwight Howard.*

The NBA is giving the fans what they want. You and I both know it's not based on how many games you've played nor how good you are. It's all a popularity contest and it's also about name recognition. The votes are also based upon how good you once were. Jordan and Magic and maybe a handful of others played great All-Star games up until their retirement. It's obvious SHAQ has slowed down considerably. But I guarantee you he still draws a double and triple team at times when he's on the court. Even though SHAQ has begun his downward slide into certain retirement he's still the best center in the NBA. If you don't believe me then ask the other centers he plays against. YAO has the ability to be great but he hasn't shown it on a consistent basis yet.

The All Star voting process is a popularity/favorites contest. Shaq is my favorite but he didn't deserve it this year. The coaches usually pick on merit but of course some of those deserving to go do get left out.

It should be called All-Fan Game. Shaq is not an All-star this year in any way. I like Shaq and what he has done but he hasn't done anything this year. If this is truly an all-star game, Shaq would not be in it. Its like if the Dunk contest is voted in and having Michael Jordan be in it still. As great as MJ was, no way he should be in the dunk contest this year.

THe all star game gives the fans what they want. And if the fans want to see Shaq play than that is what they get. IT is based on popularity because that is the point.

I wait until eventually previous due June to commence vote casting. even as they open the vote casting adult adult males have not often performed. enable's say this became an celebration for a leaderboard for AS vote casting: NL 1B: a million. A Pujols 2. P Fielder 3. D Lee 4. R Howard 5. J Votto i attempt to vote for the perfect gamers, yet when Albert Pujols is the perfect participant, and Joey Votto is the second one perfect NL first baseman, i am going to in all likelihood vote for Votto because Pujols is already going to the AS recreation.

That is a perfect example of why the NBA All-Star game is such a joke. You can't really expect more, when the masses are allowed to vote as many times as they want for who ever they want. It should not be entirely fan voting, in my opinion.

I voted for Shaq, and you wnt to know why. Well, other than him being my fav player, the voting was for ALL-STAR game. Shaq is probably the most recognized played other than michael jordan today. He's so awesome, thats why he is one there....because the ppl realize that.
