You shouldn't have a problem burning your movies.
Make sure that you have the following on your computer:
1. DVDRW drive
2. Nero software (or its equivalent. go to http://www.videohelp.com for more info about what software does what.)
3. Software and/or codecs which can transcode your movie files to the proper format (mpg2) for DVD compliance.
4. A DVD authoring programme (Nero does this BTW) to make your DVD menus, etc.

What you probably did became basically burning a report in an information Disc format like a USB Flash tension. you need to burn the movie with a DVD maker equipment like homestead windows DVD maker, Nero, or the different and it will immediately be burned into DVD format. i think of all homestead windows OS have the homestead windows DVD maker put in already. If no longer, attempt looking yet another software.

There is a lot that needs to happen between having your movie saved on your PC's hard drive and having it on your DVD that will play on your DVD player. I may be pointing out the obvious, but you need a program (e.g. Ulead) to render your DVD movie into a form that is playable on the DVD player. Furthermore, you need to have a DVD writer, not one of those CD drive which will read but not write to DVD. Assuming that you have all the hardware and software and it's still not doing it, you need to find out why. One common reason (if your DVD drive is working fine otherwise) is that the rendering process needs a lot of hard disk space to store the temporary files. Depending on the movie, it could be as much as 50GB. If you don't have enough space, it won't do it. You will need to free up more space.

What kind of movies are you talking about? Do you want to backup your DVD collection of purchased movies? Or do you have a bunch of AVI movies downloaded and you want to burn them to DVD that will play on your DVD player? Or do you have camcorder movies that you want to burn? You need different applications for each one, so please clarify.
