Maybe they're practicing a speech?
Maybe they just like to talk to themselves, to organize their thoughts?
Maybe they want to know what they look like when they talk. :) Seriously, I wonder what I look like when I talk? I wonder what my facial expressions look like.

I think it's definitely just normal. Unless the person's always yelling at themselves or saying nasty things to themselves in the mirror. That would signal a serious lack of self-esteem.

some folks talk to themselves,it is a form of thinking out loud,it seems to help them to think through things or process things somehow-it could be a part of a syndrome sometimes like asperger's or post traumatic stress.to me it is no more odd than people constantly on the cell phone talking to people who aren't right there with them, especially when there are people right around them they could talk to in person.

it depends on what they were saying to themselves. some people might just love themselves too much, others might think that it is a different person. That could be classed as a split personality.

It could be that they make exercises in acting or in speaking in front of a public. And even if not, it is not abnormal.
It is relatively easy to be aware if something is abnormal or not: abnormal is only if either you or people around you suffer under your behaviour.

Maybe it depends what they are saying? They might see something through the mirror that you cannot. Or something. If the words are pure vanity, then it's a different matter!
