You mean breaks at work ? as opposed to those who don't smoke and don't need to go every hour outside for a 5 minute cigarette break ?
I guess it's just the way management looks at it and if they are consistent about it: do everyone get a break like that or just the smokers which is not fair. Maybe they have shorter lunch breaks :)

But if you are talking about the physical rest then yes their lungs are not as healthy and the person is just not as well conditionned as a non smoker .

As a smoker, your lungs are fiiled with lots of harmful substances, like nicotine. The alviols get weak and they don't have enough capacity to be fully filled with oxigen. Thus, smokers have to breathe more frequently and make rests to restore the breath.

Because they need a cigarette break. Why do they need a cig. break because they are addicted to the nicotine and need their quick fix. Mainly it is because management lets them because then it doesn't look bad if management takes a smoke break. Those of us that don't smoke are busy working and do not choose to be around smokers so we don't get 5 min. breaks thoughout the day.We are being punished because we don't smoke?Doesn't make any sense!!!!

The smoke they inhale fills up their lungs with tar and other stuff wich makes blood circulation slower. This causes them to run out of breath easily and a lot quicker

Rests? As in naps? I never saw that.

Do you mean breaks at work? That would be so that they can go somewhere to smoke.
