There's about 2.54 centimeters in an inch. Therefore, there are 0.0254 meters in an inch.
The best way to do unit conversion is with Google. Enter (either on google.com or - even better - in the Google toolbar search box) this text:
234m in in
and it will convert 234 meters to inches for you. Or
476in in m
will convert 476 inches into meters. Handy!

there's 2.54 cm in 1 inch, there is 100 cm in 1 m so:
if you have say a 60 inch measurement and you want it in m it would be:
60 in.*(2.54 cm/1 in.)*(1m/100cm)=1.524 m
or if you want to go from meter to inches:
say you have a 1 m measurement:
1m*(100cm/1m)*(1in/2.54cm)=39.37 inches is exactly 1 m
