I saw this and just wondered if people really gave you a brand new computer just for signing up to there Broadband!
The Ad reads as follows:-
Sign up to Redten Internet’s up to 8Mb* broadband service and we’ll not only give you a brand new LG-branded desktop computer worth over £500, but we’ll throw in a three-year warranty and a free** upgrade to Microsoft Windows Vista. What’s more, we’ll also upgrade your broadband to up to 24Mb* when it becomes available – again absolutely free.

You sign up to a 3 year contract. I would read the full terms and conditions before signing up.

We had a program like that here in the States called People PC. It was very sucessful and legit. The only downside to it was that you had to sign up for a long term committment to their internet access provider....basically the cost of the service contract pretty much equalled the cost of the free PC.

Best advice would be to call them up and get all the details. Ask to see if their service is available in your area and what the average speed is.

Remember the old saying "if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is". The catch on this deal is you have to sign for 3 years, and a lot can happen to broadband costs in that time frame.

As is with most things in life...NOTHING IS FREE>

Always ask, how much is it going to cost to get it for free.

That being said, companies may give away "Free"" stuff, but the cost of their service, allows them to get it paid back over time and excessive profits if you renew your contract.

Just like cell phones, you get them for "FREE" with contract, or A lot of money without a contract.

So check the different companies offering broadband, and check the prices and see how much you are paying for the free Computer.

Its a long contract and if you leave before the contract is up you have to buy the PC or pay a hefty restocking fee.

I first heard about this offer when I received information about it through a few spam emails. Because of this I wouldn't touch them no matter what the offer. I do not agree with being sent adverts from spammers.

Hmm, 3 year contract!
But hey!
I am with orange, and was with Wanadoo which was Freeserve.
So I have been with the same provider for YEARS!
If you are not bothered about switching providers, for the best deal, price or whatever, then yes it sounds OK, and the pricing is not too bad!

Long contract and broadband prices are going one way.
