I have never heard of an insurance company considering it anything other than an elective procedure. However, if you could get your doctor to find the health benefits of firming the skin in this area (if there truly area any, and it certainly seems there would be), perhaps the doctor would be able to present a case to the insurance company and have the procedure pre-approved. I would suggest talking to a few doctors who do the surgery to see if any of them have ever had the procedure approved by an insurance company, how they did it and if you would qualify for the same.

The likelihood of that being covered are slim and none because it is a cosmetic procedure. Unless it is deemed "medically necessary" no insurance company will pay for a procedure such as a tummy tuck.

Okay so that first persons responce was totally uncalled for.
sadly i have never heard of a way to get medical insurance to pay for it. i have looked in to it myself. The only thing that most insurce will pay for is a lap band. but then again if you get that how do you expect to get off all the extra skin.. The only suggestion i guess i really have would be to seek financing. Or save your tax refunds after a couple years of saved tax refunds you should be able to pay for it cash.

I don't know if this is true but I have heard that if you have or are currently battling major depression primarily due to poor body image, then insurance may cover it.

Even if you bought insurance, they will not cover the cost of cosmetic surgery. They will only cover medical treatment which are necessary.
