When i try to set it to yahoo it just goes back to the default setting which is MSN. I've run ad-aware SE and it still does it. Can anyone help.

What browser?
IE 7 load up the yahoo page you want, goto tools, options, and click use currant and then apply (always hit apply) this should do it. If not and Adaware SE doesn't do anything for you, download spybot or another malware/spyware detector and run the program.
Firfox, basically the same, load page, goto tools, options, main, then use current and OK.

1. Clear all old files with ccleaner
from www.ccleaner.com
Probably the old page is being opened.
2. You can delete temp internet files in IE
Tools/ InternetOptions/ content/ auto
complete/ settings
3. Open Yahoo web page in IE
Now Tools/Internet options/General
click use current. which will be
http:;/www/Yahoo.com

First....Go to the website you want to be your homepage. Copy the exact address and then you can paste in Internet Properties. Here's how you get there. Goto...CONTROL PANEL...(START then SETTINGS then CONTROL PANEL)....INTERNET OPTIONS. When this comes up....simply HIGHLIGHT THE WEBSITE FROM THE SEARCH LINE (the website that you want as a home page)and COPY and PASTE INTO THE WINDOW IN ....INTERNET PROPERTIES...GENERAL(tab)...HOME PAGE. When you bring up your home page, open Tools Options find Home page section ... type the address in the window you want to be the home page (yahoo.com), and click USE CURRENT .. it will stay ...
