Just act NORMAL and when the tiime is right, ask them if they wanna go for a drink after work/school/college or whatever.

Ask them to join you for a coffee, lunch, drink after work or say there's a film on that none of your other friends want to see, then if they offer to come with you - there you go.

"Hey whatcha doing for lunch this weekend? Want to meet at the mall? My treat!" If the friend says yes...that will be a perfect time to get to know one another better and it's only lunch.
