Yes I liked the show. I liked Andy's level headed, common sense approach to working out and settling community situations. I also got a kick out of the town barber, Floyd. I remember a movie Andy Griffith was in "No Time for Sergeants", which was very funny.

Barney Fife. One of the funniest characters in television history. Nobody gets flustered like Don Knotts!
Otis the drunk was great, too. Earnest T. Bass was hilarious. Floyd was fun in a creepy way.
But Barney wins!

I loved Barney for all sorts of reasons but I think I liked Andy best because no matter what stupid thing Barney did Andy always took up for him and as his friend tried to make him look better.

They were all great. A clean series is a novelty these days. ( Don't forget the Darling family) I met Maggie Peterson (Charlene) many years ago and she is a real doll and very articulate. Otis Campbell was a riot.

i liked Andy best, i suppose, esp in the early episodes. he later became more serious and not as entertaining. Barney was a hoot, and i always liked it when Ernest T. Bass was on the show.

Barney, who else? I just love him. Barney is a little "goofy", for lack of a better word, but he's got a great big heart! He makes me wanna give him a great big hug.
