You can try with travel sites, but always go back and check directly with the airlines themself. Who ever is listed on the travel site that is the cheapest, go to their website. Compare the total price on both sites, not just the base fare. All travel sites charge booking fee's. Also be aware that 3rd party sites are not always guaranteed to give you a reservation with the airline even if you paid for it. Make sure you READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS or FARE RULES. Many airlines will not touch those tickets if there is a problem. Some discount airlines like Southwest and Jet Blue do not participate in travel sites. You can find cheaper fares with major carriers in most cases.
Send me an e-mail or IM with your travel dates and cities and I'll help you find something.

I have found the cheapest rates on www.erick.worldventures.com
It searches a couple of hundred other websites and comes back with the best rates.

I tend to use http://www.skyscanner.net - it's mainly for budget airlines, but it also tells you which other airlines fly on the same route. Otherwise http://www.ebookers.com is good.
