I honestly don't think that smoking has anything to do with it. My boyfriend smokes, and we have 2 children. It may be due to the fact that you lost a baby in October (for which I am very sorry for by the way) and your body is not ready to concieve yet. They also say it may be a little more difficult to get pregnant when you you've had a miscarriage. Try not to overthink about getting pregnant, and don't have sex to just get pregnant. Have fun and spontaneous sex, you'd be surprised how many women end up pregnant from just that. Good luck.

There should be no direct effect on you so long as he never smokes inside the house. But the psychological weakness of a smoker cannot be helpful to either of you and he may be stressing you out in some ways that may not be obvious. Tell him to get his sick addicted a*s over to Nicotine Anonymous. Go to . When he has cleaned up his life your home will be a more healthy and tranquil place and hopefully you will do better and get what you want. And remember, the last thing your new child will need is a parent addicted to a dirty unhealthy habit so it's important for him to get clean.

My husband smokes about a pack a day, When decided to have another baby it took us a whole of 2 weeks to get prego. And now I am 32 weeks. I'm very sorry that you lost your baby, but look up and keep trying. I have heard through other friends of mine that those ovulation tests are bogus. I don't know I've never needed them. But good luck!!!!! I'm rooting for you guys

I would definitely say his smoking is causing you to have health problems if you are being subjected to his second hand smoke. I don't know if you have health insurance or if your husband even wants to quit but if you do and he does then think about trying the new ways to quit smoking. My mom was able to quit using one of the new drugs on the market that helps people quit and if she can do it, anyone can! His smoking is probably affecting his ability to get you pregnant as well. Just think about what his smoking could be doing to his health as well as yours, and it is easier to to hurt an unborn baby by second hand smoke. Hope this helps. Good luck hun!

Smoking in men is proven to lower sperm count. BUT, have patience, lots of couples try for up to two years before a fertility specialist will treat you. Unless you are over 35, then it is one year of trying. Your family doctor may prescribe clomid (sp?) which helped my friend conceive after being on the med for only 3 months. Best of luck!!!

(your hubby should stop smoking now anyway, he is soon going to have a little one, which will DRASTICALLY lower risk of SIDS)

Your health may not be as great if your husband is smoking inside of the house but if he is not then it is just chance. Some women have a more difficult time with pregnancies and conceiving then others.
Good Luck.

I highly doubt you lost the baby due to his smoking, but smoking does lower the sperm count., at least it says it does. My husbands smokes and got me pregnant twice and eachtime it only took like 2 trys, so eaither i'm really fertile or smoking didnt effect him.

I honestly dont think its because your husband smokes, Ive only heard that smoking is related to low birth weight risks..but I will tell you that we were TTC for 4 months and my husband smoked. He quit and 30 days later we conceived. Probably just a coincidence, but it couldnt hurt for him to quit anyways. Good luck to you :)

I've heard that smoking does effect fertility. Although, I doubt it was the cause of miscarriage. Cigarette smoke increases the chances of SIDS once the baby is born.
