I have known very few times that the Republicans want to raise taxes for anything. I am not sure that building a wall is the proper solution, but we definitely need to do something to secure our borders. Illegal immigration is a problem that must be dealth with. Terrorists could easily slip over the border and most likely already have. Illegal immigrants don't pay taxes, but use our medical facilities which drive up our medical costs.
I think the way to combat the problem is make it less desirable for them to want to come here. Initiate prohibitive and punative fines for those employers who hire illegal aliens. Increase the presence of National Guard and Border Patrol agents all along the borders with orders to detain any and all illegals caught trying to enter the country. We need to employ non lethal weapons along the border. Those caught trying to enter illegally should be deported immediately. Those crossing and caught committing an illegal act smuggling drugs or whatever should be placed in a detention facility immediately with no bond and forced to stand trial so they can be imprisoned for an extremely long amount of time. Make it so they don't want to come here illegally

I think that a giant wall is the most hilarious Idea I have ever heard of and would be a giant waste of tax payer money. Let's face it Americas longest boarders are open ocean. Not to mention a wall of that magnitude would require a great deal of designated funding for repair and upkeep.
Finally how effective do you really think a wall would be? Seeing as though Smuggling person and Tunneling is how a great deal of people gain access to the country. I am fairly certain they also have boats and shovels in Mexico.

Conservatives are about lowering taxes...look at how many cuts have come over the past 8 years. Additionally, how much good will a wall do when the illegals will just dig under it.

You have the wrong group, Conservative lower taxes not raise. On the other hand Nancy Pelosi just changed the rules in the house to make it easier to raise taxes (Now it just takes a simple majority instead of the super majority previously required).
There are some republicans that want to raise taxes but those are the left leaning moderates. Conservatives want to reduce taxes and have done so whenever given the opportunity.

I don't want a great wall. Those who do would likely want higher federal tax REVENUE. That doesn't necessarily mean higher tax RATES - tax RATES were CUT and tax REVENUE has since skyrocketed, even though the Fed has been raising interest rates.
But it shouldn't cost much - we should have the Mexicans build it just like Israel had the Palis build their wall.

I have been given a greater powerful concept - boost taxes on the wealthy, enforce low-emission standards, boost the minimum salary and supply usual well-being assurance. And get the hell out of Iraq.

hmmmmmmmmm...build a giant moat...like the Rio Grande? And if they could swim over...That may be the logic behind the slur 'wet back'? I don't believe in building a wall, and republicans don't believe in funding their projects. it will be capitalized to our growing national debt. I wonder what China's interest rate is going for these days?
