It depends what you will be using it for.
It's easy to follow the 'bigger is better" trend ... but if you find yourself having to think about it you should consider the most common uses you may have for it :
For business use ...it's fine.
For multimedia & the new Vista ... it's aweful.
I would defenitely go for the 15.4 because I know that down the road ... for some reason or other ... I would eventually regret getting the 14 inch & I would be stuck with it & hate myself for it.
Go for the 15.4 ... you'll be glad you did.

If you only use the screen when travelling then 14" is perfectly OK, if you only use your notebook 2-3 hours a day then it is fine also.
However if your notebook is a desktop replacement model i.e. you are using it all day every day then if you can afford the extra it is well worth it. Personally I would go for a 15.4" screen every time, in fact I'd sacrifice processor speed for screen size to make up any price difference.

Depends on what your eyes can handle. If you typically use large fonts when using PCs, go with a bigger screen naturally. If you like things a bit on the small side, use the smaller screen. Not only will the pixels be crammed together for better picture quality you'll get better contrast ratio out of it.

It's not bad...I've seen them as small as 12.1"
You can adjust the resolution if the text is too small for you.
By the way, just so you know....bigger screens on a laptop = more battery consumption AND more weight. If you can live with the smaller screen, you'll be even MORE mobile with your laptop.
