THE BEST RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS TO BE HER CHILD.

Which god? Please be specific. Also, what do you mean by 'best'?
Best in who's opinion? Since 'best' is entirely subjective and is basically a value judgement and varies from case to case, person to person and century to century, how in the world could you possibly know what is 'best'?

Lastly, what makes you suppose that a 'relationship' with a god or gods is neccessary? I mean even supposing that gods exist, why not just live your life the happiest way you can and let the conceptual creator(s) of the universe sort themselves out?

As soon as one becomes a devotee of the Lord, he also has a direct relationship with the Lord. That is a very elaborate subject matter, but briefly it can be stated that a devotee is in a relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead in one of five different ways:
1. One may be a devotee in a passive state;
2. One may be a devotee in an active state;
3. One may be a devotee as a friend;
4. One may be a devotee as a parent;
5. One may be a devotee as a conjugal lover.

The above is from the introduction to Bhagavad-gita-as-it-is
by the founder-acharya of ISKCON, His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.

The above five primary relationship one can have, with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, are called in sanskrit as Santa, Dasya, Sakhya, Vatsalya and Madhurya respectively.

Again apart from the above five primary relationships there are seven other secondary relationships one can have. For further details one can read the 'Nectar of Devotion' by founder-acharya of ISKCON, His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.

To honor God by knowing and integrating into our own lives each of the beautiful aspects of God. Just like light can be broken down into the more beautiful colors of the visual spectrum, the Holy Spirit takes the pure creative vibration and breaks it into the more beautiful colors of love, joy, peace, wisdom, kindness, self-less devotion. So the Holy Spirit teaches us the richness and full
measure of these gifts freely given to us by God and permits us to appreciate God's omnipresence.

You never demonstrate your relationship with him just like you won't your relationship with a w h o r e. God is a universal w h o r e and you have to make him a v i r g i n just for you alone.

The best relationship is the the one in which you are truthful, yet comfortable. Do not strive to be too rigid and screen your feelings beforehand. Just let your feelings flow and let God sort them out.

The only way- “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."- John 3:16

"Jesus told him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."- John 14:6

So according to the Bible, to "come to" (have a relationship) with the Father (God), you have to believe in Jesus and surrender your life to him.

God bless you.

Frank and honest.
If there is a god you can't lie, so be up front, blunt and honest he/she/it knows what your thinking.
Probably best not to have a sexual relationship though. I hear God has bad breath.
