The right to mooch off of the government.
BTW, I am from New Orleans. I had 12 ft of water in my house, which is now a dirt lot. And you don't see me begging for more money.

I have said it before, N.O. was a French mistake to hide what they were doing to the Indians and Slaves. When we got it it was an ill planned dump. It is sinking due to the silt from the Mississippi flooding the Gulf. In the 70-80's the Feds sent money to fix the Levies. Like All federal Monies the state can request it for one project and after it is given the Federal Government has no rights to make sure it goes there! N.O. and LA. spent it all on State Projects and A Stadium and some signs for downtown!!! The federal Government CANNOT just go into a state without invitation! The Army Absolutely cannot go into a state without permission from congress!!! When the N.O. mayor did not Invite the State in for 18 hours they could not just enter. It took 3 Days for the federal government to be given permission by the state!!! The Federal government Spent Hundreds of millions so far and wants rights on how the money is spent before another dime is given (considering N.O. spent part of it already on fixing up the stadium!). The State OF LA. has refused to allow the federal government oversight of the way the money is being spent, I would not send another dime either!!!

I don't think you are looking at the big picture.
Its not the people's fault that the levees broke or that our government took days to assist. Its our own government that is at fault. It was the government that should have repaired the levees and the city of New Orleans choice to use the money else where. I believe that the "moochers" as you so called put it, have no where else to go and must stay in the housing provided by the government. If our government would have acted accordingly I think the matters would have been cleared up by now. If this happened in Washington, DC you can bet you bottom dollar that W would have called in all necessary forces to repair everything.

I don't know of any rights being violated, but how can you call Katrina victims "moochers"? I don't think you would appreciate being called a moocher if your possessions were washed away. The victims have the right to government aid; they pay taxes, and are Americans like you or I.

I hate moochers, katrina moochers from NOLA the biggest welfare state in existence in the US courtesy of corrupt democrat politicos since the turn of the 19th century.
Create a dependent class and you have guaranteed voters.
I like what I got recently in an email about the snow storms on the high plains.
This text is from a county emergency manager out in the
central part of Colorado after one of these snowstorms.
WEATHER BULLETIN
Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a
Historic
event--- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical
Proportions" ---
with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and
winds to 90 MPH
that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles,
stranded hundreds
of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated
scores of
communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.
FYI:
George Bush did not come.
FEMA did nothing.
No one howled for the government.
No one blamed the government.
No one even uttered an expletive on TV
Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.
Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.
Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.
CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this
category 5
snowstorm. Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.
No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.
No one looted.
Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.
Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.
No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews
and No Geraldo
Rivera.
No Sean Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be
found.
Nope, we just melted the snow for water.
Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow
engulfed cars.
The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't
ask for a
penny.
Local restaurants made food and the police and fire
departments delivered
it to the snowbound families.
Families took in the stranded p eople - total strangers.
We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or
Coleman lanterns.
We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work
or Die".
We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get
us out of a
mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that
trades votes
for 'sittin at home' checks.
Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never
fallen this
early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it
ourselves.
"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north
of about 48
degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems
evaporate."
It does seem that way, at least to me.
I hope this gets passed on.
Maybe SOME people will get the message. The world does Not owe you a
living.

before everything, you should ascertain the bible and locate out what "hardening a persons'' heart" extremely ability. this does no longer propose "manipulating" or doing away with the free will. in case you obtain all referring texts of the bible you'll locate that "hardening the heart" only signifies that the hardened heart insists on it is totally position. It receives, with the point to assert, good and has a tendency to emphasise by ability of it is aims. The Pharao of Egypt is through own definition a god. Giving in to Moses'/the Lord's request "enable my people bypass" ought to equivalent a de-deification, the entire lack of his authority. hence it is psychologically suitable that the Pharao approves various of soreness in the previous giving in. So, what does "hardening the heart" propose? The apostle Paul writes some thing about the point of biblical texts: They provide examples for our preparation, and in loads of memories we may be able to study adult adult males who stay the direction until eventually the lesson turns into obvious. So no one receives restricted, yet issues grow to be sparkling.

right to life, the fact thet the govt was arresting and shooting people for getting food from stores after not eating for days, The fact that the govt should have been in there days before the storm and definately every day after giving food and shelter to the homeless. you seem like a real stone cold uncaring fool, you would rather see a tax break on your paycheck and thousands of people starving and dying than to help someone less fortunate. how about this, lets remove your job, and your bank account and then we will put your house 15 ft under water and see if you still feel so adamant about not helping the less fortunate..... grow up

what in particular are you reffering to? is it the way the insurance companys ripped them off or their homes, jobs and way of life was totally destroyed? Maybe you can go there and gigglr at them the way Bush did when he saw it. what "time" are you referring to? What do you have in mind for the tralers, send them Iraq and put the sunnies in them? Maybe we could take them to Washington and develop a trailer par around the white house for the government moochers there, like the senate and congress.

None...and I'll bet half those displaced down there were already mooching off welfare before Katrina!
For a group that couldn't afford to get out of town and out of the way of the hurricane that day, they sure didn't look like their squalor had made any of them go hungry....judging from the sizes of most of them!
