My computer is about a year old. One day i turned on my computer and the fan was really loud, annoyingly loud. My computer is working fine but the fan is really annoying. What is my problem and how do i fix it?

Replace the fan. The bushings are worn. Also clean lint and dust out from inside the case, as these are major factors in fan failure.

First, try blowing the dust off of the fan and the entire inside of the computer with canned air. The dust on the fan blades will throw it out of balance and cause it to make noise. Then if the fan still makes noise, replace it. Fans are not expensive ($2.00 and up), just replace it with the same sized fan.

If the sound is just loud because the fan speed has increased it's because your power supply or motherboard has turned on turbo mode. This could be caused by actual overheating due to blocked vents or too much dust inside.
