If you don't want to give her a bottle then don't.
If she get's hungry enough after you stop breastfeeding, she'll take a bottle!
If it makes you feel better, pump milk and introduce her to the bottle that way.
You're the parent which means you are the boss - you do what you want to do with your baby. Don't listen to everyone else!

SHe doesn't need the bottle at all. She can derive great benefit being nursed up from two to four years. The World Health Organization recommends at least two years. By the time she weans, she won't need a bottle.
By the way, it is the breastfeeding that gets damaged if you introduce the bottle too early. Any baby can learn to drink from a bottle.

By three months they can probably handle the differences between the nipple. You shouldn't have to worry about nipple confusion. They do definitely have preference to the breast. I know of one mom who is trying to wean her six month old and she wants nothing to do with the bottle, so you may want to try to get her to take both, just to make your life easier. That wayif you want to go out someone else can feed her without having a problem. You also don't want your daughter to prefer the bottle, so make sure you use a slow nipple so that your baby doesn't get lazy and wants the fast releasing bottle nipple over your slow releasing nipples. Some babies don't have a problem switching back and forth, others will refuse the bottle. It does have a lot to do with your baby. But just to avoid conflict in the future I would probably try one bottle a day and let someone else give it to her. She might not takea bottle from you.

At 6 months you can give a sippy cup or regular cup.
However some babies will never be willing to take breastmilk from anywhere except the source. Mind you mine would never take milk from anything other than me until I went out one night and left him with my grandma. Won't take milk from me or dad, but he did for grandma.
Don't worry about what *may* become a problem exclusive breastfeeding from the breast is what is best right now. Why worry about what may become a problem, and what may not? You may not want/need to give her a bottle at 6 months.

why not give her a bottle? why wait till shes 6 months? your right, she may not figure it out, most likely she will because she'll be hungry enough. if you that much of a hang up why not keep breast feeding? i personally wouldnt want to do that, moms need a break too and right now your her only source for food. Bottles are fine, just break them of the habit before they reach a year, and never put her to bed with a bottle. the fluid will stay in her mouth which is bad for forming teeth. also it could back up in her ear drums and cause ear infections. plus, once you start that habit its very hard to break and when you start to potty train, they'll be drinking too much and wetting the bed at night. right now though just focus on your bottle hang up. i'd like to know why you dont want to give her the bottle, maybe your afraid to break that bond that you have. if you give her a bottle, she wont need you. if thats the problem, breast feed only a bed time for a while. your body will get used to it. and she will too. she'll understand that breast milk means sleepy town time. good luck

I have had three breastfed kids. My first had to have bottles of pumped milk when I went back to work at 15 weeks. My other two never had bottles. At 6 mos, if you want her to be able to continue to nurse and also take milk some other way, you could introduce a sippy cup instead of a bottle. She might be more interested in a cup than a bottle.
