My son had a dream last night that left him so terrified, he came into my bedroom shaking. He is 11 years old. He dreamt that he was in "this mansion" and that dead people and "evil things" were chasing him, trying to kill him. They finally did kill him, and he woke up. Any ideas on how to interpret this? He was TERRIFIED. Zombies seem to be the recurring theme he has in his dreams, but I've never seen him this scared. He said he hadn't seen any scary movies or video games to spark this.

Dreams about death mean life. That is all you need to tell him. That is what science believes to be true so tell him the facts as you know them. Tell him he is simply thinking about the birth of babies but that in the mind it shows it as death. The dreams will soon stop.

he's either been playing games, watching cartoons, watching commercials, or seeing movies. Ask him what he's done in the "past couple of days" to see what he's seeing (something he did see is in his memory). His dreams are what he remembers from what he called fun, but they mixed with reality in his dreams and frightened him. He has a creative mind as well and has also put his own input to what he dreamed. I remember seeing a commercial last night that sounds like what he dreamt. Maybe he doesn't recognize it was a commercial, or maybe he was doing something in the room when that was on and it merely affected his subconscious.

To see the dead in your dream, forewarns that you are being influenced by negative people and are hanging around the wrong crowd. You may suffer material loss. This dream may also be a way for you to resolve your feelings with those who have passed on. If you dream of a person who has died a long time ago, then it suggests that a current situation or relationship in you life resembles the quality of that deceased person. The dream may depict how you need to let this situation or relationship die and end it.

To see and talk with your dead parents in your dreams, represents your fears of losing them or your way of coping with the loss. You may want that last opportunity to say your final good-byes to them.

To see your dead sibling, relative, or friend in your dream, indicates that you miss them and are trying to relive your old experiences you had with them. In trying to keep up with the pace of your daily waking life, you dreams may serve as your only outlet in coping and coming to terms with the loss of a loved one

i'd agree with the person who said that maybe someone at school was telling zombie stories. but death in dreams is not necessarily a bad sign. however, if he has reoccuring dreams which frighten him so much, perhaps he needs to see a sleep therapist?

dreams are reflections of things you are thinking about as you fall asleep. so he might've seen some part of some scary movie, or little kids have big imaginations and naturally scare themselves. zombies might just be something some school kid was takling about and now hes scared of. just make sure he's not thinking of scary stuff and he knows they're not real i guess

It doesnt have to be a movie that triggers it but simply a picture. And it doesnt have to necessarily be something that recent. Im sorry he was so scared. Maybe he can sleep in your room for a while if this is continuing.
