Obsessed? I don't think so. But the media sure does expose the A-Lister's to the point that we are sick of them.
And those celebrities help the magazines sell.
I'd rather read a National Geographic any day of the week than some magazine with a celebrity on it.

I'm not! I think they're a load of overpaid oversexed self absorbed morons who, with all that plastic surgery look like something out of Madam Tussaud's. And then they move! Scary!!!

i guess because they are rich and well known and some people want to have money and have attention. some girls like to look up to them for clothes ideas too. they're just painted as perfection and some people seem to buy it.
