is marriage a big joke, and cost allot of money ?

is marriage just a peice of paper to let the courts in to your life ? and what is the ring all about ? is it mainly a cristian thing. or a legal thing. it sure seem stupid to get married this day and age when people live together for years, if people really love lovie lovie lovie each other then they dont need some one else to bless them are dub them or what ever they do. isint marriage just a age old custom that has lost its place. i could live my hole life with out leting the courts into my life. and if i am not a cristian how does marriage efect me, cant you produce the same legal actions by going to attorneys with out geting married ?

For two people who are in Love, marriage is a commitment. To commit to each other. Without the marriage contract, it becomes too easy to quit the relation ship and walk. Where as with the papers, might make you work harder at a successful relationship. Has nothing to do with the Court.
No one says, you must be married, live with someone is done often and in many cases, works better for some.
Happens often that after living together(doing well), deciding to get married later (because doing well), cant make a marriage work.
We all must find our own way's of happiness, after all that's what is important.

I disagree, when two people love each other marriage is basically a party to celebrate that fact with people close to them. I don't see why that shouldn't be allowed. I am not a christian either but I still think marriage is simply to celebrate two people's love for one another.

i think people need to lighten up! marriage is a celebration and a public display of two peoples love to the friends and family close to them and a party too celebrate. Maybe when and if you fall in love you might understand.
