Go to http://www.loc.gov , its the library of congress. You can download Form TX for copyrighting text items, send the application, a complete copy of the written work, and a check for $30 (I think its still 30) payable to the Library of Congress. After about a year you will receive the LOC's certificate registering the work.

Contact the Bureau of Copyrights. You can find them by doing a Yahoo search. Ask them to send you the forms. Fill them out. The last I knew, you send them a copy of the item that you want to copyright and whatever the fee is. They will send one copy of the form back, which is your certificate of copyright.
