miles. One Tune-up since new.

Sounds like you have a carberator as opposed to fuel injection.
If that is the case, probably the injection tube in the carb is fouled some how and not smoothly injecting or atomizing the fuel properly. Causing what is known as a flat spot. Look into overhauling the carberator.

i own a repair shop and it helps to know what kind of a car you have ,but right off id say it may need a good tune up,winter time is a good time to make one act up,and a good thorough tune up would probably take care of all of this for you,good luck,i hope this help,s.

DEPENDS....YR,MAKE,MODEL.......COULD BE FAULTY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR......IDLE CONTROL SOLENOID OR POSSIBLY A VACCUMM HOSE THAT IS LOSE OR THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
