It depends on how light the mother is and how dark the father is. I am very white, dad is light black man, son is light.

If the father's (white) genes is stronger, the baby will come out more white-looking and if the mother's (black) genes is stronger the baby will come out more black looking. Typically, biracial kids end up looking like a MIXTURE of BOTH races. But I've seen a bunch of cases where the children born to a white man/black woman couple end up looking more white. Genetics is a funny thing and it works different for each individual. Sorry, but there is no sure way of knowing what the baby will look like until he/she is born.

My daughter is very light with a hint of tan to her. Her father is vietnamese/caucasian and i'm black. Now, I really think the male gene dominates. Whenever I see a child who has a black father and white mother, their skin to is darker and more tanned looking than the other combination.

It is hard to say. I have seen children with a white mother and one was dark, not as dark as their father, but close, and the other one was almost white (they were fraternal twin girls). It all depends on who's traits the child inherits the most. They were both very pretty little girls though.

i agree with most of the other answers, but in my case and in the case of pretty much every mixed people i know, skin color has taken after the father. i don't know why....i have no scientific proof, I'm just answering with what I've seen...
i am also half white and half Mexican, i am the whitest freakin' white person, and my mother is Mexican and my father is white.
but it could be different for everyone.

I saw a TV program where one parent is white and the other parent is black. They have twins and one child is white and one child is black. The twins were tested to make sure each child is the product of each parent, and yes they are.

it will be mixed. light brown most likely but! in some cases it could be all black and in some cases it could be all white....who knows until it is born and still then we might not know properly, it could get darker or lighter throughout the years.

My little sister is biracial and she is fair-skinned with long curly brown hair, (dad is black, mom is white) honestly there are times when she looks Latina.
