A machine that old is not going to have much value these days. Not for resale at least. But to a needy family without a computer, that 5-6 year old PC might be the greatest blessing in their lives. There are charities in most areas that accept old systems, refurbish them, and donate them to those in need.

To a needy family, a donated PC means so much. It is a means of searching for jobs without wasting expensive gasoline or spending the grocery money on public transportation. It is a means of printing out a resume, or filling out online job applications. It allows their children to do their schoolwork and keep up with the rest of the class.

I know of one charity in the Chicago suburbs, People's Resource Center, that does exactly what I have described. I donated trade-ins from my customers to them all last year. I've seen firsthand the dramatic change that PC can make to someone trying to better their lives.

You can also list the computer and monitors on craigslist for a few dollars, or even to give away. The last thing I would want to see is them thrown in the trash, to ultimately clog a landfill, when they could be of use to someone.

That's a good question! I have a desktop that's 6 years old, which I got for $1300 with the monitor, and now no one is willing to give me even $20 dollars for it. It's better to junk it considering you can buy better ones today for less than few hundred.

Do you feel normal? Do you feel unhealthy? Just because the government has certain guidelines on height and weight everyone is still an individual. Think about it, if a 320 offensive lineman can do the things he does at his weight is he out of shape? But if someone is 20 years old 6'0" and weighs 180 pounds but never does anything physical is he in shape? It is all in how you feel.

Are they in good working order? If so, find someone who needs one but cannot aford one and donate one to that person...maybe a college student. or, you could donate them to a school. if they are not working, maybe you could doate them to a school that has computer repair classes, for the students to work on.

Probably junk. If you wanted you could try ebay. Someone might need parts.

I would sell them on www.craigslist.com or www.postaroo.com to someone locally these are both free sites. If you can't sell them I would donate them to a charity and recive a tax deduction.

Give them to me, sell it, use it as a backup or file storage by networking it to your new one, or play with Linux, specifically Ubuntu at www.ubuntu.com

There are so many things they are useful for.
