When I watch news programs and the anchor person is wearing lots of make up, I tend to concentrate on all the different colors on their faces more than what they are saying. I know that some of the male anchors are also wearing make up (for the lighting), but their's is done to look almost undetectable. Some of the women have it on so heavy that they look like circus clowns? What's up with that?

I do not wear makeup at all (and am female).
I also find myself staring at women with layers of makeup. THey usually look fake and like a clown.
Subtle makeup is ok, but I am not sure why we feel (as a society) that we have to hide what we look like under layers of colours.
People think they look more beautiful but really they look silly and slutty.

I agree. I think lots of makeup looks ridiculous. It makes women look like clowns or cheap hookers. What is the point of all that. I happen to be a women who doesn't often wear makeup. On occasion I'll wear some coverup powder and a little bit of eyeliner and mascara, and on rare occasions, I neutral lipstick and subtle eyeshadow. I just can't stand how unnatural some of it looks though. If God thought you'd be prettier with blue eyelids and bright red lipstick, he would have made you that way.

I find it annoying as well. Makes me feel good about myself when an actress or singer that everyone thinks is hott looks like crap without makeup. I don't like it much so I rarely ever wear alot. I wear conceler and powder. Sometimes brush on a bit of eyeshadow but just for a hint of color.
Hate lipstick. I have freckles so everyone thinks I'm crazy if I try to cover it more with make up.
I say for special occasions it's fine...but everyday life....that's probably why so many actresses look bad without makeup...it tears up their skin usually.

I agree. I hate wearing make-up. You can either like me for who I am, or like some made up person for who they arent. Seems silly to me to waste all that time putting all that unhealthy crap on your face only to have to check it and re-add it every hour, then spend an hour at night trying to get it all off. At the most, a little bit of color to bring out a persons eyes and maybe some lip gloss to keep your lips from getting dry... but it all still seems pointless to me, and a huge waste of time.

I find that true in soap operas too. They can look pretty sometimes, but a lot of times way over done. I find in more true in soap operas than in the news anchors though.

I usually only wear make up when im going out and thats very light make up. My boyfriend does not like me wearing makeup note evn a little bit. not cuz i look ugly in it because he thinks that natural is bold and beuatiful and thinks makeup makes any gurl look material.

i agree. My mom always told me that it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to put on makeup . If it does, you're probably waering too much.

well nowadays everyoneeeeeeeeee wears makeupp..so don't even stress on it. all celebrities wear it n wiout they look like normal ppl n sometimes kinda ugly..but w/e thats jus how it is.
