You can tab tools, click on internet options, then view files and /or cookies. Some controls I implemented here at home, I moved our pc's to a common area in the house, the living room and the game room. I started their own accounts and gave each of them their passwords.I customized my setting so I am the only administrator. This prevents users from being able to open a new user account. I also set up a guest account for when their friends visit. I gave them all a choice to select ONE AND ONLY ONE e-mail account.I also suggest investing in a spy software program. Eblaster is a great pgm! It records websites visited, time spent on the site,e-mails and IM's (instant messenger) chats (keys, pics, time stamps, etc),Pc log on,etc. We did apply some rules though.
1. I mentioned to everybody in the house that I would be installing the spy software, as instructed by the wife.
2. Everyone must log in to their own accounts before web surfing and log off after each use.
3.There is a right to respecting children's/teen interests that I have to honor (my wife is our family "democratic watchdog"), such as flirting, teasing, chatting about the opposite gender, exchanging pictures so long as these conditions are met: No nudity (either recieving or sending),No talking with strangers, No porn sites. My daughter also suggested to our family watchodg that if I read it on my spyware report, I cannot "bring it up at the table" or confront them with it unless parental intervention is necessary. A few days later, we had a meeting and it was voted on. I lost. Funny,eh?
Anyhow, how we handled internet use in our home has lead to a very open and honest relationship with my kids. I sometimes tease them about something I "shouldn't know about" just to embarass them. Later they end up sharing that "Cheri likes this guy,but he doesn't talk to nobody...lalala". They talk to me about things I don't think kids share with their parents. I know all their friends, even the ones I haven't met. I know who likes who. Who kissed who. It's a blast,my relationship with the kiddos. I trust them. I think that my ability and willingness to giving them their space to be kids has helped them gain more trust in me as their father and a friend. If you do this, don't hide it from them. We all do things when we think nobody's watching. When we know we're watching and don't tell, it's unfair and fosters deception.

Another thing, a few years ago the only thing I knew about the "internets," as some would call it, was browsing. I didn't even know the green arrows were forward/back buttons. Me and the "watchdog" took a very inexpensive (25.00ea)class at our library branch. The class consisted of two sessions.I was done in two weeks. Give them a call. If they don't have anything, suggest it to them. Internet safety for our families is a major concern nowadays and knowledge of the internet and pc skills play a vital role in achieving victory over that battle. Goodluck!

Once it is deleted you can't check where they were. What you can do is set up a security program with parental control that blocks sites and requires a p/w for others.

Also, in the search bar, type in one letter only. This will list the topics that they searched for that starts with that letter.

my best advice is: if you have DSL with MSN Premium put prental controls on their accounts. the PC monitors every site they visit.
and sends you the list via email.

They have to be logged in to msn explorer for it to work.
it won't work through internet Explorer.

btw i forgot to mention that IE also has a parental control which block sites but they don't send you a list if the sites they visited.

i use guardian software - have it set to work in stealth mode so they don't even know it's there. can track not only internet usage and sites, but also instant messaging, chats, and e-mails if i want. it's only about $40, but i think it's a good investment for our peace of mind.

You should trust your kids, have a talk with them and ask them what they have been doing, but you really should trust your kids.
