like for fundraising how do i get stared with that??? i need 4500 dollars to get to this convention this pays for the hotel, food, anything else that the package comes with!! please help me i have till the july 20 to have the money!! HELP!!!

I agree that this is indeed a scam. I was invited to go to an AMTC convention as well and I opted not to go because I heard a lot of horror stories about it. Let me guess theres gonna be scouts and such from a lot of different agencies. You'll perform for them or walk the runway or something similar and if they like you they'll call you back. I think they even throw the partipants a party one night. Lets just say you get no call backs then you would have spent 4500 dollars of your own money or your parents money and for what? I am sorry, to say it but this is a waste of money. If you'd honestly like to be an actor or model do it the right way. An actor - if you have no training. Get some! See if there is any local theater around your way and begin auditioning for it to gain some experience and to see if you even have what it takes. Start taking some classes and workshops. Get some headshots taken and then start looking for an agent. A model you need to get some photos taken for your portfolio and then you can start looking for an agency to represent you. I believe that agencies like Ford and Wilhemina have websites that actually list the days for their open calls. Don't waist your money sweetie. Find someone to represent you, so that you wont have to pay them 4500 dollars and come up empty handed while there wallet gets fatter. They'll be working hard to get you work because if they get you work they get paid. Go about making it in this business the right way. Nothing is gonna be easy, but if you really want it isn't it worth all of the hardwork that you'll have to put into it. Take it from me. I want to be an actor, but I am starting off practically. I go to a university in NY and I am an acting major. And if you decide not to accept my advice and you instead want to go to the convention then Id suggest that you get a job. Dont be lazy. How old are you by the way? What state do you reside in? You know all of this makes a difference when trying do alot of things in the entertainment industry. You know what they say: Location, location, location. And what sex are you? If you need good money fast and if you're old enough I'd say waitress at a night club, hooters, or an exotic club. You might even want to consider becoming a shot girl/boy.
