Well, she said she took it, when I asked her about it, she said she would pay it back, but she's the kind of borrower who never repays.
She's done it before.
She never payed them back before either.
They are 4 and 5.
She isn't taking any more of their money, because she spent the last of it on chocolate bars for herself.
Now she has no money and no job.

I'm the one that put the money in there for them, I pay them for good behavior when I visit, if they've been good for their mommy, if they've eaten all their food, if they pick up their room.
I empty out the change in my ashtray and pocket everytime I visit.

Think of it like this, if she will steal from her own children, there is no telling what she is capable of doing. Some people, no matter how nice the might seem are suckers. They suck the life and everything else they can from you until they are through, because they care about themselves more than anything else. When a mother can take from her children for something that she wants, not needs, then she is capable of anything! Run, Run, Run!

I Don't get it how a parent can be stealing from their own child. Obviously taking a few buck from a PIGGY BANK to buy cigarettes is sad. Would it have made a difference if the money was to buy bread, milk or any other necessity? You may feel like it is a gross way to spend money but to a smoker, cigarettes are a necessity. Maybe you should stop being so judgemental. Stop placing conditions as ridiculous as these on your friend. Obviously you are not such a good friend if you sit in judgement and offer no help. Maybe helping your friend understand all the downfalls of being a smoker including her child not only losing a few lousy bucks, but maybe losing their mom would make, YOU a better friend. It's sad that you feel that you are so perfect that she should be honour to have a friend who asks such questions about dumping her altogether.

I WISH YOUR FRIEND ALL THE LUCK IN REALIZING IT'S JUST MORE IMPORTANT TO QUIT SMOKING FOR HER HEALTH. MAYBE SHE SHOULD BE THE ONE TO START THINKING ABOUT CLEANING HER OWN FRIENDSHIP CLOSET.

Why not? How old are her kids? Is she going to put the money back? Every once in a while I run out of funds myself and have to dip into my 5 year old's change.. I always put it back, though. Don't hold it against her, nobody's perfect. If the worst thing she does is take some change from her kid for smokes she seems like a pretty good person. Now, if she was taking it for crystal meth or beer or something, that's a different story...

It sounds like she suffers from addictive personality disorder, and needs to see a couselor. Stealing money from the children, for cigarettes, is something a crackhead would do. I would talk to her about getting help, what kind of mother would do that? I am a smoker, but I would never deceive my children, just for my habit!! If she can't support her own habit without taking from her children, then it sounds like she needs to stop smoking. Some people don't deserve children, especially since she asks like a child herself.

Stole, or borrowed? She should pay the money back. It is up to you about the friendship, depends on how she is all the way around. Trust, honesty, have much to do with it.

Did she steal it or borrow it? There is a difference. We sometimes borrow a few bucks from our son. But he always gets paid way more than we borrow. Probably the reason we have to borrow from him to begin with LOL!!

yes be her friend just let her know what she is doing is wrong to her kids. The bible sates that the judged will be judged so don't judge anyone for what they do that is wrong because God is going to do that on judgment day,so keep that in mind OK.

It is her kids bank. She probably put it in there to begin with, and she'll probably replace it, too. I borrowed from my kids banks when they were little. No big deal.
