@MaxnSam - Angus Young is the leader guitarist to AC/DC NOT the singer.
I think it is Bono because he has done many things both on the stage as well as off which are very important. These are a list of favorite frontmans:-
Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath)
Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)
Freddie Mercury (Queen)
Bon Scott (AC/DC)
James Hetfield (Metallica)
Billie-Joe Armstrong (Green Day)
Mick Jagger - The Rolling Stones

I've got to go with Bono as well. His has the most amazing stage presence I've ever seen... and I've been around for a while and I've seen many, many concerts. Even on the nights when Bono's voice is weak (which I've witnessed first-hand) he still manages to rally up a crown just with his ability to command the stage. No easy feat for a guy who stands just over 5'6".
There have been many great frontmen in rock music but in my opinion, Bono has held the position of best lead singer for the longest amount of time. He was the best back in '87 when "The Joshua Tree" was released and he's still the best 20 years later.

Hi,Tinky,
For showmanship, probably Freddie Mercury, but having seen Led Zeppelin at Knebworth almost thirty years ago,Robert Plant takes some beating.
Oh,and Darren Hayes from Savage Garden knows how to work a crowd.
Love and kisses,

Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) gets my vote with Robert Plant and Peter Gabriel very close behind. Jon Anderson of Yes deserves a mention too simply for being barking mad!!

I think it would be hard to compete with Freddie Mercury but Robert Plant must be on the list as well as Paul Rogers (Free) but these are all from the UK.

Bono is the best still currently active...
Mick Jagger is the best all-time...though I've never been a big Rolling Stones fan.
