Sex always seems to more important when you're not getting any if that makes sense!!
When you're in a relationship where you have it 'on a plate' so to speak people can go through phases of low sex drive, and that's ok, as long as there is still love and affection.
I think plenty of people choose not to have a sex life, and there are no physical consequences of this, but I think there might be emotional ones....

perhaps you mean "in adultHOOD," not "in adultery."
There are no negative physical consequences of not having sex, as far as research has shown so far.
Psychologically, we seem to be programmed to desire sex, and people who are having sex are generally happier than people who are not having it. However, this might just be because people who are having sex are mostly in relationships, and being in relationships (usually) makes people happy, as well. Loneliness is very painful (one of the most painful emotional states that psychologists have studied), and being single is lonely for most people.
Like most things, the situation is more complicated than it might look. *Most* people are happier when they are in sexual relationships than when they are not. But, of course, you can be much less happy in a relationship, or having sex, if the relationship or the sex is unpleasant or damaging for you. In that case, it would be better to stay single.
No matter how hard we try to separate them, sex always includes emotional involvement (even if it's only a shallow kind of involvement). That relationship has a lot to do with how happy the sex makes us, so your question can't be answered while only making reference to sex. The emotional/relationship variables always play a part.
As for whether a fulfilling life can be had without sex, perhaps you should ask some Catholic priests or nuns who are celibate. I suspect that most of them will say their lives are very fulfilling.

The simple answer is yes as a society we are obsessed . Love mind you that's different we could with more of that. Adultery is a abuse of trust and should be frowned upon. But sex is a great thing in its right full place.

It depends on the individual. I have a high sex drive so living a life without sex would not be fulfilling for me.
On the other hand someone who has a low or non-existence sex drive probably wouldnt have a problem with it.

in my opinion, a healthful and pleasing intercourse existence is stable on the spectacular of the checklist while it includes keeping a satisfied and pleasing marriage. it is not basically exhilaration and lust in any respect. that's approximately coming mutually with my husband in a fashion that for the period of user-friendly terms we share with one yet another. i hit upon your view of intercourse to be unhappy and shallow.

i am married but i really wish i never had to have sex again, its not bad and i do enjoy it, but i have no sex drive at all. if it is available then sure i will take it, but if it was never on offer it would not bother me that much.

I don't think it is that important, but our natural purpose and function is to breed
Besides...it is fun. Why deny yourself pleasure even if it is yourself that you are pleasuring?
