Someone told me club soda might work, but with no luck. I am stumped to find something. I dislike putting the plastic liners in the bottom of the sink, so this is the result.

Try KleenKing stainless steel cleaner or Barkeepers Friend. Both are a non-abrasive cleanser that work well on stainless steel. I used them both on the stainless steel sinks and stoves I had in rentals where tenants abused the surfaces and they both worked well to remove blemishes, burnt on food and scratches.

Well, what kind of finish do you have on your stainless steel. The highly polished high shine or the duller mill finished look. If it's the second, I would think you would have a better chance of matching the finish or at least getting the new scratches to blend in better. Try using a very fine grit (400 or even 600) wet/dry sandpaper on the scratch. Sand in the direction of the existing finish.
If it is a polished finish, you'll be in for a lot of buffing after you sand out the scratch to get it out, and you may have to repolish you entire sink to match everything.
Sorry, no easy answers to fix this one.

If the steel is scratched, the only way to remove the scratch is to polish the surface, in such a way that it matches the surrounded, unscratched area. This can be tough. You could try some polishing paste on a small area to see if this works.

The only solution is to polish them out.
I am not picky so I just use a normal abrasive cleanser.
