Has this happened to you and why does this phenomena occur?

obviously, you catch up with all the people driving slowly, so you are stuck behind the slow drivers,and the fast drivers cath up with you and are stuck behind you. The slow drivers behind you never catch up to you so you don't see them, and you never catch up to the fast drivers in front of you so you don't see them.

It is the Law of Moderates - you are in the middle, not going slow enough or fast enough. If you get in another lane the law will continue. Get one of those James Bond cars which shoots oil out the back or ball bearings with spikes or a machine gun to shoot the guy in front. Still the Law of Moderates will catch up with you.

maybe you drive at just the right speed so you feel everyone else is going to fast and too slow
