I'll be in Seattle mid-April. What 'view' should I request at the Hilton Seattle where I'll be staying? I'm a Hilton member so therefore I'll be on at least the 24th floor. I hear Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier and Lake Washington are nice to view. I live on Maui and although I 'live' on a mountain and am surrounded by water, I'd like to see what other areas look like. Thanks!

We stayed on the twenty-seventh floor of the Sheraton, facing the water (west) and only had a peek-a-boo view because of other tall buildings. I think though that the Hilton is more up on a hill than the Sheraton, so your view might be somewhat better.

I'd recommend facing North for a great view of the city and the Space Needle, and if you are lucky enough to have an clear day, maybe even Mt. Baker (the mountains are different here...they're snowy!). My second choice would be west toward the Sound ~ to me there is nothing better than the view of ferry boats lit up at night, crawling across the water! Too, west is a beautiful view of the Olympic Mountains, which makes for a picturesque sunset!

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the Mt. Rainier view. From the right angle, it's magnificent, but from downtown, you'd have to overlook the industrial part of town to see it. Not so scenic.

East would be fine too...if you can see over First Hill, you'd have a view of the Cascade Mountains, but probably not Lake Washington.

If you really are into photos and want to get a great view of the city, I'd highly recommend Kerry Park. It's kind of hard to find, but worth it. It's the view you'd most often see on postcards, and it's the closest thing you'll find to the view from "Frasier"s apartment. The other great viewpoint is at Alki or Duwamish Head.

I would definitely vote for the view to the west. Seattle is all about Puget Sound, first and foremost, so you will be able to see all of the action on the water; ferries, cruise ships, cargo ships, etc. You will also get a nice view of downtown Seattle and the Olympic Mountain Range to the west. The view to the north is not very dramatic at all, with the exception of the Space Needle.

Any view on a high floor is going to be great. I would get a view heading North or West. Since you will be able to See the puget sound, the mountains and the space needle. Mt ranier is very hard to see in Seattle due to poor visablity.. but if you wanted that view you should get a south facing or southeast facing view

Blinky chicken gave you an excellent checklist of the ideal resorts in Seattle. yet i'm guessing which you basically isn't waiting to locate a room at any of them for under $one hundred thirty per night, and maximum by way of no skill a room with a view for that cost. As to your theory to get a room with a balcony - maximum resorts in Seattle don't have balconies - the climate is cool and wet for 9 months of the 365 days and balcony areas are wasted area for the period of maximum of that factor. The Edgewater is the single lodge with balcony rooms, so i might verify there first, yet be arranged to make some concessions (in cost, centers or date traveling) so as to locate what you desire.
