Rugby!
Union of course goes without saying, as league is quite rubbish!
I love watching but I also like playing, I've played since I was 7 and still do play for a club (I'm 16 now). I do prefer watching at home though because you get all the replays and toilet breaks and comfy chairs.
I think governments should support sport much more than it does. Aside from that it is a matter of national pride, and just remember the celebrations when we (England) won the Rugby World Cup, and look at the desolation when we were wiped out in the Ashes (cricket). Also, it keeps people fit and promotes team spirit, sportsmanship, discipline and other skills which are beneficial in life.
Also the skills you learn in Rugby make you much handier in a fight (joking of course).

I love watching football college or pro
I love playing basketball
I also enjoyed playing soccer
In my small town we have alot of sports fans supporting the two rival high schools. One on the Northside & the best on the Southside. Its a huge rival.

older people don't stay away from sport, see any football crowd and you will see a good proportion of older people, but we do tend to stay away from the most boisterous elements.
I'm a cricket fan too,although I don't know how I dare admit it!
