Bush’s greatest sin wasn’t necessarily diverting his attention from Iran, by fighting in Iraq, thus allowing Iran to pursue a nuclear arsenal unabated, though it does demonstrate gross mismanagement and dereliction of duty. His greatest sin was invading Iraq in the first place under false pretenses, and rationalizing his occupation of that country under equally dubious assertions, thus inflaming the entire Muslim world to either pursue nuclear weaponry in the first place, or expediting their search for a formidable nuclear arsenal if they were already contemplating it. He, by his flagrant violation of Muslim lands without just cause, confirmed to the Muslim world that the United States is bent on expanding their hegemony into their space.
If you had a fear, based on good evidence, provided by numerous home break-ins by criminals into your neighbor’s house, wouldn’t you pursue the necessary firepower to stave off a burglary in your own home? That is all Iran is doing. Had the United States not provoked them, they and the entire Muslim world would not be so eager as they are now to pursue true weapons of mass destruction. After all, notice that we didn’t hear much about a Middle Eastern arms race until after Bush decided to invade Iraq like a cowboy. Bush’s militant posture, despite how much conservatives would like to deny it, was the catalyst for Middle Eastern aspirations to go nuclear.

Iran does not have a nuclear bomb--and won't for years, if ever. All they have done is reach the point of beginning to enrich uranium. Not to say this is not a problem--but it's nowhere near critical. We need to quit fooling around with that and clean up the Iraq mess. Then Iran will be manageable.
Or do you believe this "WMD" fairy tale Bush is putting out? Just because Iran wants nuclear weapons is not the same thing as their having them--and they are a long way away from that.

Yep, saw that. You're right...it is a mess. But is anyone really surprised?
He's been moving towards this for a awhile(moving into the Gulf)...while I do not believe we will drop "the bomb"...I do believe it's possible we will attempt an air assault of some sort.
This is certainly escalating and will only get worse....be prepared for a spike in casualties.
(even Bush warned us about that...per his Iraq speech a few weeks ago).

It is a mess alright. BTW though, a nuclear bomb by its nature is a defensive, not an offensive weapon. You don't use them until you absolutaly have to because you are going to get your butt wiped off the planet if you do. Even the US.
The only groups that would be able to use one for offensive purposes would be non government groups (read: terrorists), since you have to know who sent the danged thing to know who to retaliate against. That is what we are worried about with N. Korea. They are crazy enough to sell them.
I don't think Iran having one is going to make the Middle East any more unstable then it already is. Not that it is saying much.
Thank George for warning them they needed one, but I wouldn't sweat them having one all that much.

Do you know that the Vice President and the Saudi Arabians have been dealing very effectively with the problem in Iran since about the first week in November of 2006 and things are already changing, or did that escape your notice?

I still say we should attack them.....NOW!! In making a Nuclear bomb the enriched uranium is the hard part, all the need right now is a catalyst and a delivery system. C4 plastic explosives could be used as a rudimentary catalyst and they just bought a bunch of missiles from Russia.

I didn't hear that. Do you suppose they came with that shipment of defense missiles that Russia sent Iran to protect itself from Bush's planned attack.
Yes it is a mess. Bush is on the verge of starting WW III.

I just find this so ironic. You dems want to pull out of Iraq and let them handle it, but then you complain because Bush is trying to find a solution and get us out of there and that's not good enough because now you want us in another countries business. Which is it?
