I'm going for 1 week on 8th february, how is it getting through customs ? can i just make up a hotel reservation to get through immigration ? Is the food really that bad ? Where's good to go out in Havana ? How much should you pay for cigars ? anywhere else good to go / things to do ?

What's the weather like at this time of year ?

How are the cubans with english - - i hear it's relatively safe ?

Any advice would be really appreciated :=)

Cuba does not accept US $. Cuba is great but make sure you have a place to stay for the first night. They want to know. Food is fine there, if you have an open mind and not expect lobster and steak. Then, you are fine. I like the food there (fish, pork, fish ). Alot to do in Havana, I heard alot of pick pocketers around lately. Just be careful and you are fine. There is the Capitol, nice architect, China town (behind the Capitol, lobster for $5, Shrimps for $3 and Veg. Chow Mein for $2). You will get hit on by girls and asking you to sleep with them. Just be careful, nice girls but you need a casa (house). Make sure you are staying at a government house ( look at the firsy link and you will see a blue symbol on the top left corner; it means it's a leagl house. Run by government). The cubans are great, friendly but you will get harass because you are a tourist (frsh meat). You will have agreat time as long as you have street sense. At night, do not walk alone. Especially on the Melacon. Good luck and enjoy the Cuban flavor because U.S. inavde it with Walmart, KFC, MacDonalds, etc... I have been to Cuba 8 time and I love it. I just came back from Cayo Coco, beautiful beaches.
