After six months of 'surge', why don't we let Bush and Cheney walk around the block in Downtown Baghdad. If they can do it without filling their shorts, then the surge was a success. If not, we withdraw our troops and let them kill each other to their little hearts content.

And yes, I am a Republican, NOT a neocon.

Not bad, but I have a better idea. Since both Bush and Cheney think we are winning, we should break out the four corners offense and wait till the game is over to move back to the center of the court. In other words, guard the borders while the Iraqis kill each other off and then after the dust has settled, move back in make sure everything is running smoothly.

Although I think your question is somewhat misguided, I actually do believe the "surge" can achieve even greater success than we've already realized thus far, i.e., liberation, free elections, a new democratic government, etc. But, I don't think it will be easily done if we have those in our country undermining our efforts in this regard... sadly for political reason. Our soldiers will be safer, and get to come home sooner, if we can just all get our act together and get the job done already!

Sounds like a good idea. Better than any proposed so far!

Why don't we just kill them all and let God or Mohammed or whoever the prophet is sort them out.

Why wait. They says we are winning, send them over right now.
