I don't know what they were called, but I had them in 1993-1994 and they were some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned, and you could play basketball in them. Plenty of ankle support.
They were mostly black and gray, and there was a thin foam padded boot inside that padded your feet all around. I loved them, until someone stole them.
