I mean, how gay people with better situation can help other's situation which is worse. Did you know in some countries it is legal to bash and kill just because you are gay?

pressure your government to do things such as accept refuge claims from people from countries where this could happen to them. write letters/articles for the media about the issue to raise awareness. join an international or local activist group that is doing something about this, or if you don't have time to volunteer, donate money instead.

i disagree with the above answer - things don't get better naturally! women weren't given the vote just because men decided it was time to stop discriminating, slavery and segregation didn't end by magic, child labour laws didn't come into affect out of nowhere - all the rights that people have attained have been fought for long and hard!

You can write to our elected officials, write to our newspapers. Let them know that gays and lesbians everywhere should be treated with the same respect due anyone simply for being human beings. As citizens of our nations, we are no better or worse but are treated as second class out of fear and religious piety.
Our elected officials in the US need to be reminded that our laws are NOT based on "Christian" values but rather on HUMANISTIC values. That ALL citizens should be afforded "LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS" that is promised to ALL Citizens by our Bill of Rights.
