It makes me crazy as well. During Katrina, people waited and cursed at the government because they weren't handed houses or money fast enough. As a matter of fact, they are still complaining about it. Don't get me wrong, I do feel bad for the people that lost everything and couldn't get out. But I remember seeing all over the news before the hurricane hit, that there was a mandatory evacuation.
My house was flooded, I have lived through ice storms, I have been without power for long periods of time. I didn't even think about calling Bush a racist for not helping me. I took care of things myself. I didn't look for handouts from anyone.

Here we go again, I do social service work, and feel that a lot of people whom receives federal funding for living has been a source of repeated overkill statements. We need to focus on the big corporations and State governments, that have received and continue to receive government aid needlessly, and abused the system and its foundation of purpose. The billions of dollars given to these big corporations each year, would be able to support the citizens welfare system for 7 years, now that's a fact. Corporate welfare is increasing rapidly, as Americans are led to believe that it is the poor who is hampering the economics of our Union.

because we pay them billions of dollars a year to do so. Not counting the fact that i dont think its their job to support YOU. I think its their job to help support the impoverished and oppressed people who were raised and then pushed into poverty by the lack of this countries ability to better educate and employ its lower and middle class.

Because they have been fed a steady diet o socialism through the schools and the media.
It is to the government to provide an atmosphere where you can thrive not to provide support to you.
I do not wish to mirror the "success" of Europe. Germany is their economic powerhouse and they have 20% unemployment. We have 3.5% in this economy yet the mainstream media calls the economy a disaster.

Why worry about this? I work, you work (I assume) the tone of the government doesn't seem to be supporting vast numbers of people, unemployment is low. If some moron thinks the State owes him or her a living, screw 'em. Let them either work or starve.

where were you last tax day? Taxes pay them...they get paid by us, they need to do better for us...common sense. Also I think they should support us for they've gotten into the Social Security system too much...which is suppose to be our monies....not theirs to control.

I for myself would like to see our tax money used more efficiently.
I expect the goverment to support me, especially after paying enough taxes last year to support another family.

Because they're lazy bums who don't want to do anything with their lives except waste it. They want everything handed to them like their a child. They want their freedoms but not the responsabilities that come with them. They need to GROW UP.
