I am trying to think of a good message to record for my phone ie; when people ring me and leave a message, something better than the usual "sorry I am unable to take your call please leave a message after the tone" bleeeeep.......
I have done the usual imitations of characters from little britain and want something totally different that does'nt involve me having to use a stupid voice.
Has anyone out there heard any really funny messages or got any ideas (cleanish ones please) of what I could record?

I carry % up and make contact with returned until they p.c.. up. i'm very continual! i do in comparison to leaving messages 'reason my voice sounds humorous, and that i constantly finally end up giggling or sounding like some robotic. I hate that the guy could be waiting to hearken to it many times...making exciting of me :(

You could answer as if you were there and starting with your phone number then hello, leave enough space for them to speak then say sorry i'm out, dont be so impatient wait for the beep... i'll ring you back.

Not very imagnative and might not work i havent used an answer machine since early 90s.

Actually its rubbish isnt it.

Try not to say "you are out", or there is "nobody here to take your call", as this can be an invitation to a potential burglar.

I normally keep it simple, "sorry I can't get to the phone right now, please leave a message and your number and I will get back to you shortly, thanks for calling"

You can add any other amusing response as you feel appropriate within you message, but please never tell callers you are not at home.

Good luck, hope this gives you ideas.

Got a friend who's message sounds like she's answered it but is having trouble hearing you on the other end. Still catches me out sometimes. After a few seconds you realise you're shouting down the phone as the beep goes off. HELLO.......HELLO.......HELLO......beeeeep

I've got my son who's 8 saying "sorry mum & dad can't come to the phone, I've locked them in the cupboard under the stairs, tell me what you want & I'll shout through the keyhole & tell them"

It works quite well untill the School phones & I have a lot of explaining to do!

My answer message is one of the most annoying apparently....

'Hello.......Hello?.....Hello?.....
haha fooled you, i'm not here right now, so just leave a message after the beep lol'

Try it, people will hate you for that one for a long time lol.

you should say "hello?" like you're really there on the phone and be quiet for a while, while the person who called you thinks theyre talking to you. then say "just kiddin, uh, im not here right now... you know what to do!"

Record the chorus of 'Always look on the bright side of life' onto your machine. Always makes people laugh.
