I think once you get pregnant you never stop worrying. I had a misscariage with my first pregnancy, and I didn't really stop to enjoy my pregnancy when I had my son, and then later my daughter. And then once you have the baby you'll constantly worry about them for the rest of their lives. Just take care of yourself, and try and enjoy your pregnancy, and the little miracle inside.

If there's yet another thing to deal with while your pregnant it's the sudden non stop worrying...about everything. The nightmares you get at night, or the sudden, "Will I be good enough" The list goes on so far no on eshould ever bother trying to keep track of it.
I'm not sure what the rates are, honestly, and it's hard to think about, and or not think about at times. But if your doctor says your fine, and your healthy, with a healthy growing baby, you should take that to assume things are..OK. Telling you not to worry, is pointless, cause it's nto an easy thing to stop doing.
The only thing I can tell you is, you should take a deep breath, let it out and remember with each week that passes you have a greater chance of bringing a healthy baby into the world. Reaching your 23 week is already a great step in that goal, and rates do decline after the first trimester (14-17 weeks)
So try and not let worries run your days, relax whenever you can, talk to your doctor ask as many questions as possible if your still concerned, they'd assure you you were healthy and your baby was also, if there was a problem, you'd hear about it.

I do not know what the rates of second trimester miscarriages are exactly, but I know the chances of it happening are WAY low! I mean, yes...it COULD happen, but it is very rare. I ttc for over 2 years and when I finally ended up pregnant, I was always worried as well. What helped me calm down is knowing that everyday the baby has a better and better chance of survival outside the womb. I believe it is at 28 weeks, the baby's chances of survival if it were to be born (naturallyor emergency c-section) are like 70% or something! Also, keep in mind that all of this worrying is over somethign that is out of your control. If your body is going to lose the baby/pregnancy, then it will no matter WHAT you do! However, by worrying so much, you are creating stress on your body and on your baby...neither of which is healthy. Worrying will not cause a miscarriage, but it is just stressful on the both of you...so try to relax and know that evreythgin is good to go right now. :) If anythign was wrong with your body or the baby, your doctor woudl be talkign to you about it. You had an ultrasound done...everythign looked good (or else the doc woudl have told you by now...further testing, etc.).
The women who have misscarriages because of 'defects' in their own bodies (incompitent cervix, etc) are all things that are out of their control as well. If you had any of these problems, again...your doctor woudl have told you by now and woudl be taking measures to prevent misscarriage/problems from arising!
It is normal to worry like you are...but girl...relax...it is *not* too good to be true (although I know what you mean...I felt that way too)....it *IS* happening, and it *WILL* be alright as long as you do what you need to do to take care of yourself and baby. Eat right and stay away from the negative things (smoking, drinking, drugs, etc...) and just tale care of yourself, and you will be just fine.
Good luck and congrats!!!

Not sure what they are but if the doctor said everything is alright, then relax because you being uptight is not good. You will be just fine. I am 16 weeks gestation and I have my amniocenteses tomorrow and there is a chance I could miscarry with that. But I am going to go with the flow and relax. Good luck and congrats to you!

Well, I guess one way to stop yourself from worrying is to realize that too much stress is harmful to your baby.
You should also speak to your OB/GYN and tell her all of your concerns about your pregnancy and let her confirm for you whether or not everything with your pregnancy is 100%!
Make sure you are eating a balanced, nutritious diet, avoiding Caffeine & alchol, and are getting some easy/moderate exercise (a brisk walk, for example). If your healthy, your chances for a healthy baby will increase as well!
Hope this helps you relax a little :)

I don't think you should worry just take good care of yourself and everything will be fine. take your daily vitamins, eat healthy and your baby will be fine. don't stress. i was like that too and now I am almost 38 weeks.

there is never any guarantee of a healthy baby.
there are other problems that can occur besides miscarriage.
but worry will not help.
