Looking for movies that involve music throughout the decades. For instance, Almost Famous, Footloose, Saturday Night Fever.

Anyone got any more? Thanks!

Ralph Bakshi did an animated film in the 70s called "American Pop" Following three generations of an American family influenced by the music of their era. Animation may seem a bit crude by today's standards but I remember it fondly.

The Who's "TOMMY" (not Tommy Boy) and Alan Parker's interpretation of "Pink Floyd's The Wall". "Singin' In The Rain" (I always liked Gene Kelly) and "The Music Man" are probably my favorite of the Hollywood Machine musicals. And for a laugh there is always the satirical jabs at the whole music scene offered by Rob Reiner and Rusty Cundieff in their MOCKUMENTARIES "This Is Spinal Tap" (a look at a fictional Metal Band) and "Fear of a Black Hat" (a look at a fictional rap group). Both HILARIOUS.

About Musicians: Sweet Dreams (Patsy Cline), The Buddy Holly Story, Great Balls of Fire, Walk the Line, Ray, Salena, Coal Miners Daughter, The Doors. Different genres(all of these have great soundtracks from their time): Fantasia, Hair, Dirty Dancing, The Graduate, Rockstar, Yellow Submarine (or any of the Beetles movies), and Pink Floyd's The Wall. There's also a documentary on Woodstock. Hope this helps.
